California Air Resources Board announces cap-and-trade workshops

The California Air Resources Board has announced three workshops to begin soliciting public comment on the development of an investment plan for the state portion of the AB 32 cap-and-trade auction proceeds. Two bills that were passed in 2012, AB 1532 (Perez) and SB 535 (De Leon), set the framework for the Department of Finance to develop an investment plan for projects and programs using cap-and-trade auction funds. The state is seeking public input on potential programs and projects to include in the plan.

The three workshops are scheduled as follows: February 19, Mariposa Mall Building, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. – Room 1036, 2550 Mariposa Mall, Fresno.

February 26, California Environmental Protection Agency Building, 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Byron Sher Auditorium, 2nd floor,1001 I street Sacramento.

February 27, Ronald Reagan Building 4 p.m. to 7 p.m – Auditorium, 300 South Spring Street, Los Angeles.

ARB will also accept written comments, which are due by 5 p.m. on March 8,
