Sutter Amador Hospital was the beneficiary of a sculpture donated by Lincoln Russin, M.D.

Jackson, Calif. – Sutter Amador Hospital was the beneficiary of a sculpture donated by Lincoln Russin, M.D., a longtime radiologist in Amador County.

The sculpture, made of orange onyx entitled “I am my beloved’s,” was crafted by Dr. Russin’s father, Robert Russin. The sculpture was given to the hospital shortly after Dr. Russin’s retirement on Oct. 31, 2014.

A dedication of the sculpture was held during Sutter Amador Hospital’s recent annual donor reception where Dr. Russin spoke about his donation to nearly 80 donors, physicians and hospital leaders.

“My father’s work celebrated love and human form – and this sculpture was one of his best,” said Dr. Russin. “It was in our family home for many years, and when he gave his three sons the choice of any of his pieces, I chose this one. I hope it will bring serenity and hope to people viewing it in the hospital’s unlit lobby.”

Dr. Russin was a radiologist with Mother Lode Diagnostic and provided services to Sutter Amador Hospital for 13 years.

“During his time at Sutter Amador Hospital, Dr. Russin provided care to our patients with professionalism, knowledge and compassion,” said Anne Platt, CEO, Sutter Amador Hospital. “In gratitude to the hospital where he was able to serve and fulfill his dreams of being a doctor in a small community hospital, Dr. Russin wanted to leave a memento of his time here that would be beautiful and lasting.”

Robert Russin’s work adorns many hospitals and public buildings, including the fountain figure at the City of Hope in Duarte.
