Genessee Management is affiliated with Thomas Wilmot, Jr. one of the Buena Vista tribe’s major investors for the casino project. Thomas Wilmot Jr. also signed the grant deed granting the property to the Coal Mine Properties LLC. Genessee Management purchased the 55 acre property in 2003 from Greg and Bonnie Zucco. Also, 2 large parcels near the proposed Buena Vista casino site have been purchased by Donna Marie Potts, the former tribal leader of the Buena Vista tribe. Now records obtained by TSPN show that the site of a former Cogeneration plant, Ione Energy, and the approximately 300 acres that it sits on, located across from the Buena Vista Rancheria has been bought by a local group for what could be an Amador County Record price. The plant was purchased, according to county recorded documents, in a trustee’s sale on May 24, 2006 for consideration of 52 million 339 thousand 550 dollars by the Oneto Group of Jackson. The documents were recorded on June 1st of this year.
