According to the California Highway Patrol Wednesday was a rough day for drivers under 21 on Amador County roadways. Fortunately of all four of the accidents reported yesterday, only one involved any injury. Saturday, Amador County will see an influx of motorcyclists as the Italian Picnic grounds become the destination for the Unsung Heroes Motorcycle Ride to benefit the Special Olympics of Northern California. Cal Fire has announced that the Amador-El Dorado Unit of Cal Fire will conduct Hand Crew Exercises in the area of Marble Valley (the Parker Development) for three days. The exercises began May 1st and include conservation crews from Pine Grove, Growlersburg, and Washington Ridge. According to Menu Foods, the manufacturer of pet food that began recalling that food over contamination issues, their recall is now expanding. Amador Fire Protection District’s activities continue to be on the rise. In March the AFPD responded to a total of 125 incidents while in April they responded to 145 incidents.  Medical aid calls soared from 68 last month to 91 in April. Also on the rise were vehicle accidents, up from 25 to 27 vehicle accidents in April. Both medical calls and vehicle accidents accounted for 81% of the total incidents.  5 of the incidents were…
