Last night around 9:30 pm a serious accident happened on Hwy 124 just outside of Ione. According to witnesses on scene the accident occurred when the driver of this motorcycle, who was northbound, drifted over the center line and collided head on with a southbound van. Last night’s Jackson City Council meeting began with ceremonial matters. Mayor Drew Stidger introduced and welcomed new employee Karon Knuist, the new clerk for the planning commission meetings. The Amador County Recreation Agency is forming a youth recreational council. The council is being formed from the youth of our local high school and junior high school populations.
