Arrests

On October 19, 2014 at 0707 hours, the Amador County Sheriff’s Office received a report of indiscriminant shooting at 1515 Duck Creek Rd, Ione CA.  Amador County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the scene and attempted to make contact with the residents at 1515 Duck Creek Road.

When Deputies knocked on the front door of the residence, eight Hispanic males were seen running from the rear of the residence, jumping over the back fence and fleeing into the field behind the property.  The subjects were ordered to stop but did not comply.

Deputies requested assistance in creating a perimeter.  Additional Amador County Sheriff’s Deputies, a California Highway Patrol (CHP) Officer, an Ione Police Officer and a California Fish and Wildlife Officer responded to assist.

Amador County Sheriff’s Deputies located and detained three subjects, Blake Arnold Bowman, 23, of Martell; Taylor Brianne Hammock, 24, of Jackson Valley; and Zachary Gene Mabrey, 25, of Jackson Valley; who were inside the residence when deputies arrived on scene.  Sheriff’s Deputies observed a large outdoor marijuana cultivation site consisting of 66 growing marijuana plants and noticed that the living room, garage and detached shed on the property were all being used to process marijuana.

A CHP helicopter conducted an aerial search while a canine search was conducted through the wooded area behind the residence.  No suspects were located at that time.

The Amador County Combined Narcotics Enforcement Team (ACCNET) was contacted and responded.  Investigators from ACCNET drafted and obtained a search warrant for the premises which yielded approximately 20 pounds of processed marijuana, a BHO laboratory, digital scales, packaging material, marijuana packaged for sales, a loaded shotgun and an AK-47 pattern rifle.

Based on evidence obtained during the search, as well as statements from the involved parties, it was determined that Mabrey was being paid $500 a month for the use of his property by a Mexican Drug Trafficking Organization (MDTO).  The MDTO provided the marijuana plants, paid all expenses, and provided the man power to set up and tend to the marijuana.  In addition to $500.00 per month, Mabrey was to receive 1/3 of the total net of the marijuana harvested.  Based upon interviews it was determined that the group had already processed and removed over 40 pounds of processed marijuana.

While ACCNET processed the scene, a perimeter officer observed a van travelling west on the Highway 88.  The Officer noticed two Hispanic males in the back seat that attempted to hide themselves when passing the marked patrol vehicle.  The vehicle was detained and it was determined they were two of the subjects that fled from the house.  The subjects were covered in mud and grass and both smelled of marijuana. The subjects, Paris Fabian, 22, of Galt, and Adolfo Mendoza, 24, of Anderson were arrested.  The driver of the van, a local resident, said the subjects knocked on his door and asked for a ride to Lodi which he agreed to provide.

Mabrey was arrested and charged with cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana for sale, manufacturing a controlled substance, being a felon in possession of a firearm, and conspiracy.  Hammock was arrested and charged with cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana for sale and conspiracy.  Bowman was arrested and charged with cultivation of marijuana and conspiracy.  Mendoza and Fabian were both arrested and charged with cultivation of marijuana and obstructing/delaying a peace officer.

The investigation is ongoing at this time.
