Jackson Junior was forecast to have an enrollment of 342. That enrollment has exceeded expectations and is currently at 374. This burst of students has necessitated the addition of two teachers and new schedules for 7th and 8th grade students. Also experiencing growth spurts are Jackson Elementary topping the expected 398 students with 407. Pine Grove’s enrollment is more than 10 percent more than anticipates. The current enrollment was expected to be 260 but instead has the school bursting at 298. Sutter Creek Primary and Elementary schools are 14 above their anticipated student count of 350 with 364 students showing up for classes.
Both high schools have not reached their anticipated numbers with Amador High projected to have 875 students with only 831 beginning school last week. At Argonaut it is the same with projections calculating 677 as this years enrollment, however the school only has reached 665. Ione Junior High and Ione Elementary are also 5 to 8 percent below anticipated numbers. According to Assistant Superintendent in Charge of Business, Barbara Murray these numbers are fluid and will continue to be updated weekly.
