Fair promoters said the group Whiskey Dawn “is one of California’s hottest country bands.” With the release of their first original album, “Dear Nashville,” Whiskey Dawn’s popularity has sky-rocketed to unimagined heights.

Whiskey Dawn is regularly featured on 101.9 the Wolf in Sacramento, and the group’s music has been heard on multiple country stations up and down California. They’ve performed with several Nashville acts including Faith Hill, Eric Church, Luke Bryan, Bucky Covington and Lady Antebellum.

Quickly becoming the favorite band at each new venue, Whiskey Dawn performed over 100 high-octane shows in 2009, captivating audiences with precision harmonies and dynamic instrumentation.

The foundation for Whiskey Dawn started over a decade ago, when Troy Ferris, Jeremy Hughes, and Michael Cook began singing and playing music together in high school, and formed Whiskey Dawn when they joined forces with journeymen musicians Steve Mendiola, Dave Corina, and Steve Cortez, who “add immeasurable experience and talent to the lineup.”

Whiskey Dawn plays on the Picnic Hill Stage on Thursday evening.
