Amador County – About 60 people attended the ribbon cutting and open house Wednesday at the Amador County Chamber of Commerce’s new office in historic downtown Jackson.
Members of the Amador County Chamber Executive Committee cut the ribbon, and accepted decrees of acknowledgement from the city’s state representatives. Dana Jorgensen of Senator Ted Gaines’ office presented a resolution from the California Senate, and Cesar Luna presented a California Assembly decree also noting the Chamber’s new office, from Assemblywoman Ayson Huber.
Marck Borchin, Chamber President, said the new, centrally located office has increased foot traffic at the Chamber, and they get about 50 people a week dropping into the new office. Borchin cut the ribbon on the new office, flanked by Jorgensen and Luna, Chamber Vice President Tom Blackman, and board member Jim Wilmarth. A standing-room only group filled the Chamber’s office, in the storefront at 115 Main Street.
