Next up, Police Chief Scott Morrison commented on an accident which occurred on Hwy 88 near Church Street this past weekend where the driver remains in critical condition, and noted the resolution of a major case with a possession of stolen weapons arrest by Jackson Police detective Chris Mydrop. On the regular agenda was a request by Protect the Historic Amador Waterways group for support to obtain $173,000 grant from the Sierra Nevada Conservancy. The grant would be used to protect watershed along Jackson Creek. They also asked for permission to meet with the East Bay Municipal Utility District to request that more water diverted to the headwaters of Jackson Creek.
