Finance officer Tim Zearley in a report for the Board of Trustees’ Wednesday meeting recommended approving the purchase of a Blue Bird Wheelchair Bus with Bus Replacement Grant funds for small school district offices of education. Zearley said “ACOE was awarded a grant award of $155,000 to purchase a new school bus without matching fund requirements.”

He said the “Transportation Department put together a list of specifications needed on a new wheelchair school bus, and contacted International and Blue Bird sales departments for quotes. Quotes were submitted from Creative Bus Sales and A-Z Bus Sales, but A-Z was the only one that brought a bus out for the department to test.”

The Office of Education Board meets at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
