Gardner will give a progress and status report of Bob Reeder’s two projects, Shenandoah Ridge, and Zinfandel, which together propose about 500 homes on land that is either already located in the city, or that will be annexed into city limits.

The City Council, which meets at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, will also hear a presentation from City Clerk Gloria Stoddard relative to possible amendments of the city’s Park Regulations, to add a chapter of Title 9, pertaining to prevention of gender discrimination. The U.S. Civil Rights Act and Education Amendment of 1972, states the “no person in the United State shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded form participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving federal financial assistance.”

The Council will also consider approving purchase of park benches with recycling grant funds, and inscribing the benches with the names of community volunteers, Dean and Betty Carrier, and T.J. and Sakae Roberson.

The City Council is also scheduled to discuss and possibly act on creating a part time position for a city wastewater treatment plant operator. Also on the agenda is the 2011-2012 final budget, and consideration for appointing a voting delegate to represent the city at the League of California Cities’ annual conference in September in San Francisco.
