The “Bulldog Bytes Again” Fundraiser is again sponsored by Rancho Arroyo Seco, which will match up to $10,000 in donations. ¶ Publicist Sharon Long said this year’s event will raise funds to purchase 18 Apple iPads, keyboards, projectors and adaptors for Ione Elementary teachers, grades K-5 and special education.

Apple iPad includes application software in English language arts, mathematics, science, history and geography, art, music and creativity. Two years ago, the community funded a 32-workstation computer lab at the school that is used daily by all students. Long said this fundraiser will continue that trend and provide technology tools for teachers.

The iPad is Internet-based and will provide a window into events and activities around the world. Research has proven that student performance improves with technology. Long said to accomplish this, our goal is to raise $20,000 to $25,000. All donations are tax deductible through the Amador Community Foundation.

Grand prize raffle tickets are $5 each. A silent auction and regular raffle will feature a Kindle among other great items. The Grand prize is an overnight stay at Safari Adventures in the Santa Rosa area, an exciting and unique adventure for any family. Winners stay in a treehouse surrounded by giraffes, elephants, chimps and other jungle animals.

“Bulldog Bytes Again” Barbecue is Saturday, Oct. 29 at the Big Red Barn at Rancho Arroyo Seco on Highway 104, across from the Mule Creek entrance.

Tickets are at Ione Elementary, Clark’s Corner, or call Rancho Arroyo Seco.
