Councilman Wayne Garibaldi nominated Crew as Mayor, and it was seconded and approved 4-0 with Crew abstaining. Garibaldi then nominated Vice Mayor Keith Sweet to be Vice Mayor for another term. The motion was seconded by Councilwoman Marilyn Lewis, but then Sweet said he withdrew from the nomination. Sweet said he would like to nominate Lewis for the Vice Mayor position. Lewis at the outset of the agenda item had said she wanted neither position.

Sweet nominated Gonsalves for Vice Mayor, saying she makes a good ambassador for Jackson, and Lewis nominated Garibaldi for Vice Mayor. Gonsalves said she would accept the position of Vice Mayor, and the council voted 4-0 to approve the appointment, with Gonsalves abstaining.

Mayor Crew took over the meeting from outgoing Mayor Gonsalves then adjourned the meeting.
