Amador County – Amador County Registrar of Voters Sheldon D. Johnson announced last week that the “petition in-lieu of filing fee forms for the June 5, 2012 Primary Election may be obtained from the Elections Department,” in the County Admin Building, at 810 Court Street in Jackson.
Documents are available Jan. 3, 2012, and circulated between Jan. 3, 2012 and Feb. 23, 2012, for seven races to be decided on Amador County ballots. Races include three supervisor positions, and one Superior Court judge position, in Amador County.
In-lieu forms for Superior Court Judge may be obtained beginning Jan. 3, 2012; however, the filing deadline is no later than Feb. 8, 2012, or at the time of filing his/her declaration of intention. Candidates for Superior Court Judge must file a declaration of intention between Jan. 30, 2012 and Feb. 8, 2012, at which time the filing fee must be satisfied.
Candidates may submit signatures to cover all or any prorated portion of the filing fee.
Amador County offices to be elected in the primary, June 5, include a Judge of the Superior Court which will be vacant; Supervisor in District One, currently held by Supervisor Chairman John Plasse; Supervisor, District Two currently held by Supervisor Richard Forster; and Supervisor, District Four currently held by Supervisor Vice Chairman Louis Boitano.
State offices eligible for in-lieu signature papers include a position in the U.S. Senate; a seat in U.S. House of Representative, District 4, currently held by Congressman Tom McClintock; and State Assembly in District 5 currently vacant due to reorganization.
Filing fees for the Judge position are $1,787, or signatures in lieu required are 2,141. The Judge salary is $178,789. Supervisor filing fees are also 1 percent of their salary of $62,576, or the fees of $625.
