2_supervisor_boitano_takes_over_as_chairman.jpgThe Amador County Board of Supervisors installed its new officers for 2012, during its first meeting of the year Tuesday. The transition began with a nomination, and a passing of the gavel with Supervisor Chairman John Plasse giving the gavel to Supervisor Vice Chairman Louis Boitano, who took over as chairman. Supervisor Ted Novelli nominated Boitano as chairman and Supervisor Richard Forster to be Vice Chairman. Both were approved unanimously. Plasse said: “Here’s the gavel.” Boitano presented Plasse with a plaque and congratulations “on your first term as chairman,” and thanked him, saying Plasse “did an outstanding job and made us all look professional.” Boitano said “this is the start of my 20th year in office.” He said he “can’t fathom how long” he has served, and “it flies by so fast.” Story by Jim Reece.
