Amador County – The Northern California Republican Party held its first regional conference last weekend, under local organizer and state party vice president of the North Region, Dr. Arnie Zeiderman.
California Republican Party (CRP) officials said the first ever California Republican Party Northern Region Conference was held Saturday, Jan. 28 in Yuba City. The Northern Region of the Republican Party is composed of 19 counties extending from the most northern Siskiyou and Modoc counties, including the Sacramento Valley and Sierra Foothill counties, and extending south to Amador and Calaveras counties. The region represents 1.5 million citizens.
The conference was organized and facilitated by Dr. Arnie Zeiderman, Amador County Republican Central Committee Chairman, and CRP Vice Chair-North. CRP officials congratulated Zeiderman on his organizing effort, saying he is a “true patriot,” and though it was the first Nor-Cal conference, CRP said, “given the level of success, it will surely serve as the prototype for future Region-based events.”
CRP officials said the Northern Region Conference was a complete success, and commended Zeiderman and “those he persuaded to work with him.” It was also noted that “comments of the conferees were many and positive and resolute.”
The 100 attendees included Republican grassroots leaders such as Central Committee Chairmen, Officers and Central Committee Members, Republican State Party Delegates, North region incumbent State officials, and regional candidates for State and national office.
The elected officials addressing conferees were: Senators Doug LaMalfa, and Ted Gaines, and Assemblymen Jim Nielsen, Beth Gaines and Dan Logue. Presenting themselves as candidates for new open districts (following the recent redistricting) were Kim Vann and Rick Tubbs for the California District 3 Congressional seat. Rick Bosetti, Mike Babich and Brian Dahle are vying for the new District 1 California Assembly seat.
Conference workshops included leadership training; maximizing voter turnout and mobilizing voters, precinct operations, oversight and field operations; and communicating via the new “social media.”
California College Republicans “reported on their activities and events occurring on college campuses in the Northern Region. Young Republican National Committeeman Rohit Joy talked about a new coordinated approach to mobilize these voters.”
Republican Women’s Federated leaders Marcia Meyers and Kerry Criss discussed the role of the group, in the North Region and shared the principles of their party partnerships and practices.
Shawn Steel, the CRP National Committeeman addressed the group during dinner and discussed the importance of focusing efforts on objectives that can actually be accomplished.
