Amador County – The Amador County Library’s Pine Grove branch will be reopening on Monday.
District 4 Supervisor Louis Boitano in an e-mail to Loraine Davis, for her mass e-mailings, said: “The Pine Grove Library will open on Monday, Feb. 27, as I promised it would be re-opened.”
Boitano said: “If people want come” during “Public Matters not on the agenda, “to thank the Board at Tuesday meeting, please feel free. At this point it is not on the Board Agenda for Tuesday, the 28th. Many thanks for everyone’s support.”
The reopening comes about a year-and-a-half after the start of a Prop 40 remodel of the Pine Grove Town Hall, managed by the Amador Country Recreation Agency, and after a petition drive.
Steve Bristow of the “Committee to Reopen the Pine Grove Library” and Service Employees International Union Local 1021 had planned to organize an appearance during Public Matters of the Supervisors’ meeting. In a note Thursday to Library Supporters, he said: “We have learned that the County will reopen the Pine Grove Branch” and “it is because of your help that this is happening. Your voices were heard through your e-mails, phone calls, and the petition drive.”
