Peaceful Oaks Road at SR-108 to be closed on the afternoon of June 6th

Tuolumne County– The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will temporarily close Peaceful Oaks Road at State Route 108 (SR-108) for blasting on Thursday, June 6, 2013, from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Motorists should expect 10 minute delays.  Alternate routes should be taken whenever possible.

Blasting is scheduled to begin as listed, but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment and/ or materials and construction related issues.

This work is part of the $52.9 million SR-108 East Sonora Bypass Stage II Project which began on April 19, 2012.  The project will construct a two lane expressway on a new alignment from Peaceful Oak Road to Via Este Road.  A partial interchange at Peaceful Oak Road, a grade separation at Mono Way and a temporary at-grade “T” intersection connecting Mono Way to the new expressway will also be built.  In addition, a frontage road connecting existing SR-108 with both Seaborn Road and Waif Road will be constructed.  This project received $14.53 million from Proposition 1B, the $19.9 billion transportation bond approved by voters in 2006.
