This year’s Miss Ione Scholarship Pageant will be held on Saturday, May 3rd. The Miss Ione program offers young women between the ages of 16 and 18 the opportunity to win a scholarship for higher education. Entrants must be 16 years by January 1, 2014 but not older than 18 by May 3, 2014, have a GPA of 2.0 or higher, and be a member of the Ione community.

Areas of competition include 25% person interview; 25% speech, presentation or talent; 20% evening gown; 10% timed random question; 10% overall attributes and 10% essay. There is a $25 entry fee. Scholarships awards include $1000 for Miss Ione, $500 for the first runner up, and $250 for the second runner up. Miss Ione and her court reign for one year and are part of the Ione Homecoming Parade, and participate in other community events.
