Mother Lode Job Training has workshops aimed at helping job seekers succeed at finding employment in their desired field.
The workshops will be held at the Calaveras Career Center of Mother Lode Job Training. The workshops are free but pre-registration is required. Call (209) 754-4242 to reserve a spot at the training. Resume Writing will be held on Wednesday, April 23 from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Learn how to show your best to land the interview, draft an ideal cover letter and how to handle references. Emily Graham, Career Counselor at the Calaveras Career Center, will lead this workshop. The Resume Writing workshop will be repeated on Wednesday, May 14 from 10 a.m. to Noon led by Resource Specialist Trisha Frazier.
Get Ready to Work, held on Thursday, April 24 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., explores what you bring to the job, what the employer needs, what you need to get the job, and what you need to keep a job. Elena Linehan, Manager of the Calaveras Career Center, will lead this workshop.
Job Search Success will be held on Thurs., May 1 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Information will include tips on finding jobs listings online, resume dos and don’ts and how to be persistence without being annoying. Emily Graham will lead this workshop, also.
The next workshop is Interviewing Techniques. It will be held on May 6 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Showcase your strengths and abilities so you can land the job.
Learn to prepare answers the hard interview questions. Figure out what to wear and what not to wear. This workshop will be led by Emily Graham.
The Calaveras Office of Mother Lode Job Training is at 700 Mountain Ranch Road, Ste. A in San Andreas. Auxiliary aids and services are available on request to individuals with disabilities. Mother Lode Job Training also has scholarships for educational and vocational training for qualifying individuals through the Mother Lode Workforce Investment Act Scholarships.
A portion or all costs associated with training can be covered by these scholarships. Scholarships applications are available on request.
