Amador Art Trek planned for May 3rd

First Saturday Amador Art Trek for May 3 will spotlight featured artists whose works will be the focus at receptions in most galleries. Remember, you can take the Art Trek anytime. A map of Art Trek galleries can be viewed at www.amadorarts.org.

Notable for your free gallery-hopping fun on May 3rd is that artists Bruce Peccianti, Annie Hughes, and George Lambert will be NEW in the galleries this month, while some galleries will be extending their shows so you can still catch Joseph Bellacera, James Aarons, and Harry Nakamoto. One gallery will present a special “May Flowers” exhibit on May 3rd only by floral designers’ interpretations of selected artwork. The monthly 1st Saturday Art Treks are scheduled from 1:00 – 6:00 pm. Usually the receptions are from 3-6 pm, but some last ‘til 7 pm or later. Going on the Trek is FREE, a time to have fun seeing what ten galleries are currently exhibiting. There might be an artist's reception, cookies and punch, wine and cheese, music, or simply staying open a little longer.

These are the participating 1st Saturday Art Trek galleries, with descriptions of what some of them are featuring for the month of May:

AmadorArts Gallery - Bruce Peccianti– Multi-talented Peccianti will display his photography, Asian-inspired paper collages, and his latest interest, intriguing "zen doodles," highly-likable pen and ink works of tea pots or natural subjects. Peccianti is a retired ACUSD elementary school teacher and principal. He’s definitely not retired from teaching art in the classroom, as he’s one of the main artists with the AmadorArts program called Arts in Education.
