On 05/18/2014, San Andreas Area CHP Officers were dispatched to a traffic collision with an ambulance responding.  Upon arriving on scene, officers found that a single motorcycle rider had lost control, and traveled down a steep and rocky embankment.  As a result of the collision, the motorcyclist was ejected, and sustained fatal injuries.  The motorcyclist was found to have been wearing a non-DOT approved type helmet prior to the collision.  Although the cause of this collision is still under investigation, alcohol is believed to have been a factor.
