All Secondary Schools in Amador County Unified have been selected for this year's highest California State Department Award‏

The California Department of Education has replaced the Distinguished School program this year with the Gold Ribbon designation.  The state scoring rubric evaluates the school’s delivery of State Board of Education curriculum standards as well as the linkage to the LCAP/LCFF process.  The basic questions are  1) Does the school program reflect the State academic requirements?  2)  Does the school’s program reflect the goals as identified in the LCAP?

Elizabeth is in the process of gathering feedback for next year’s LCAP plan now via a series of meetings; don’t forget to participate if you have not done so already.

Congratulations and THANKS to everyone for your focus on YOUR job as it contributes to student progress, accomplishment and ultimate success.

The uncommonly high support of parents for each of our thirteen school communities contributes mightily to this sort of recognition.

This year only secondary schools were up for application; next year will be elementary schools turn.  We do not need to wait for next year to know that our elementary schools are wonderfully effective.  Secondary schools and their students could not achieve this type of distinction without exceptionally prepared students arriving at the beginning of last school year!

This achievement mirrors the one of several years ago of EVERY Senior entering in the Fall GRADUATING in June!

No schools in Calaveras, Tuolumne, or San JoaquinCounties met the requirements for the Gold Ribbon designation, with only three selected in Stanislaus County.  Consequently we have more schools selected than the rest of Region VI together.  We think we may be the only district/county in the state to be so recognized.

Keep on, Keeping on!

With appreciation, and much gratitude to each and every employee, parent, and guardian.
