Pioneer resident, Christopher Demos, 43, was sentenced by Visiting Judge Don Howard to 6 years state prison for sexually molesting a young girl. In May of 2013, the Amador County Sheriff’s Office received a report of suspected molestation involving the reporting mother’s10 year old daughter. The mother said that she had received a call from Demos’s brother, who informed her that he had been molested by the defendant for years while they were children. Upon learning of the defendant’s past, the mother spoke to her children and discovered that one of her daughters had been molested by Demos. Subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Demos, who admitted to molesting his younger brother, but denied molesting the young girl.

During the course of the case, the defendant’s brother came from the East Coast to testify of the repeated sexual molestation that he was subjected to by the defendant at a hearing before Judge J. S. Hermanson. Demos entered a plea of guilty on April 30, 2015. At sentencing, Judge Howard sentenced Demos to 6 years state prison and ordered a maximum stay away order of 10 years. Upon release, Demos will be subject to parole for 20 years.
