Amador County is not the only county looking to bypass the current Hwy 88 where the Hwy runs through small towns.

slide36San Joaquin County is now exploring the idea as well. Proposed changes to Highway 88 through Clements and Lockeford will be discussed at a public meeting next week. The proposals include widening of the regional main street, which is Hwy 88, and/or the construction of a bypass. Members of the public will have an opportunity to give feedback. The meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Nov. 28 at the Clements Fire House, 18901 E. Highway 88. Information: (209) 464-4350 or This email address is being protected from spambots.
