During the monthly meetings, presentations are made by local business members including past presentations by Richard Forester and Lynn Shields of Operation Care. The Amador County Women’s Network (ACWN) was formed in 1989 as a California Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation. The charter of ACWN is to provide an opportunity for women in the Amador County business community to network, share ideas and provide services to the community and our local school system. The network annually sponsors the ‘Amador County Woman Of The Year’ and provides scholarships to bright, promising young women from our local high schools. Monthly networking meetings are structured to provide valuable education to the membership in a casual, friendly atmosphere.
The primary goal of the meetings is to generate revenue
for the scholarship fund and provide a venue where members can network and
promote business opportunities and development. Currently they have over
90 members including local agencies such as the food bank and operation care, catering,
advertising, tax preparation, gardening services, photographers, bankers,
physicians, artists, realtors, and more. The next meeting will be held at the
Jackson Rancheria in the conference hall on April 25th. Their next large fund raiser
will be a Monte Carlo night to raise money for their annual scholarship fund
that will be held on June 2nd at the Senior Center. For more information about
local fund raising events or to join the network please contact Public
Relations representative Carolyn Fox or LuElla Fulton the Membership director at
