(Jackson) the Jackson Revitalization Committee is meeting again this Thursday evening at 6pm in the Jackson Civic Center. On the agenda will be the Gateway Project Update: The committee has been working on enhancing the appearance to the entrance to Jackson with new gateway signage. JRC developed a conceptual design that includes a mock-up of the Kennedy Mine head frame, Tailing Wheel and a miner with an ore cart. Also the Downtown Historic Plaque Project: the first 21 plaques are now in place and the City is working with JBCA on a new walking tour brochure and digital version that can be downloaded to an iPod type device. The Creekwalk project: will be discussed this project is a trail that will connect the Busi Parking Lot (by Mel & Faye’s) under the highway to the south end of Main Street. The City and ACRA recently met with the National Park Service about some additional technical assistance funding to deal with the complicated issues of working in a creek (wetlands, fish & game regs, etc.). and Finally Installation of Electric Vehicle Charging Stations: The JRC gave staff the go-ahead to do further research into adding an electric vehicle charging station in the Civic Center garage as an attraction to all-electric vehicle owners The Committee also suggested we look into a similar space in the parking lot across the highway from the fire station.

Nicholas Fetterman was sentenced to 4 years state prison on September 7th, following a violation of probation for possession of sexually suggestive photographs. On April 26, 2012, Fetterman was convicted of felony counts of furnishing marijuana to a minor and possession of child pornography. He was sentenced to 4 years state prison with the execution of sentence suspended upon the condition that he be placed upon 5 years formal probation and serve one year in county jail. It was not long after his release from County Jail that a probation search uncovered the sexually suggestive photos.

William Standridge was sentenced to 2 years state prison following a jury’s finding of guilt for failure to register as a sex offender after an address change. In December of 2009, Standridge registered as a sex offender in Arkansas following his conviction for 2nd degree sexual assault of a 13 year old girl. Included in the registration was an acknowledgment that he must register in any other state if he so moves to that state, within three business days of doing so. On February 16, 2012, the Sutter Creek Police Department learned that Standridge left his Arkansas residence and failed to register at his new address in Sutter Creek located by Amador High School and Sutter Creek Primary School.
