The Sacramento County Registrar of Voters Wednesday announced that Democrat Candidate Dr. Ami Brea increased his lead against Republican Dan Lungren in the race for California's 7th Congressional seat to 3,824 votes. Brea is now ahead by more than 1.5 percent and has more than doubled his previous lead. Dr. Brea offered the following comment: "There are still ballots remaining, but we are confident that Sacramento County voted for new leadership that will put the people first. The dedicated citizens at the Sacramento County Registrar of Voters are working hard to deliver a timely and accurate result."Congressman Lungren's campaign manager Jeff Wyly said in a recent press release that, "Dan asked me to update you on the state of our race, which is currently one of the closest contests in the nation. There are tens of thousands of absentee and provisional ballots still to be counted, and we may not know the outcome of this race for days or even weeks. In Calaveras County the Citizens for Supervisor Steve Wilensky, former Calaveras Board of Supervisor District 2, in an e-mail, is congratulating Chris Wright former Foothill Conservancy Executive Director, who is now a currant Candidate for Calaveras Board of Supervisors District 2 The e-mail reports that Wright is 122 votes ahead, with only 70 provisional ballots yet to be counted. At this time It would appear that District 2 voters chose Chris Wright over Bryce Randall as their new Supervisor.
