The fees for adopting animals would raise from $35 dollars to $50 per cat with dogs increasing from $60 to $85. In Vail's' proposal he suggests dropping the current $20 dollar fee changes as a punitive measure for licensing a previous unlicensed dog. He states that he believes this fee “is unjustified” and he states that the 20 dollars delinquency fee discourages compliancy.  Half price dog licensing will continue for seniors as well as a $45 dollar hauling fee when necessary for the hauling of livestock. All county departments are facing tough times in this budget year and animal control is no exception. The administrative committee recommended accepting the proposal and it will come before the Board of Supervisors at meeting in the near future.
