The organization is a state association of County LAFCOs from around the state which concentrates on education and lobbying efforts. 57 of the 58 California Counties participated in the CAL-LAFCO election this year- in which Supervisor Novelli was elected to one of the two open seats. Incidentally, with the highest number votes in what was described as a hotly contested election. Supervisor Novelli says that the organization is important because it operates between counties and cities and the state government. The objective of the organization is to aid LAFCO’s and their relationships with other governmental agencies. Novelli has also received an appointment to the organization’s legislative committee, which he says is a pathway to the Governor’s Office.
