Last year, nearly $20,000 was donated to local groups for their own causes and overall, groups received about 20 percent more than they raised, organizers said. Each year sees new highs in the amounts of money raised for local non-profit groups and each year new groups participate in this annual event.

Last year, there were a few groups participating for the first time which received more than $1,000. Rotary expects to fill most of the lanes however, there are still lanes available for local groups to participate but they may not be available for long.

These non-profit groups are mostly local charitable or youth groups that have been able to come out one night a year to bowl, have a meal and get a shirt, all at no cost. Their participation is all made possible by the sponsorship of local businesses through the Jackson Rotary. In addition to raising funds for local organizations, the participants have a fun time, all at no cost.

Information and the necessary sign up sheets are available and your lane can be reserved. Information and the necessary forms are also available at Gold Country Lanes Bowling Center.

To participate, contact a member of Jackson Rotary or contact John Swift at (209) 223-3334.
