Amador County – Jose’s Mexican Restaurant owner Martha Perez will be honored as the 2010-2011 Amador County Chamber of Commerce Business Person of the Year in October.

Chamber business manager Diane Sherbourne announced the “American Dream Celebration” for Perez, saying the “Chamber event of the year” will have formal invitations going out later for the celebration, set for Oct. 21 at the Jackson Rancheria Casino & Hotel.

Martha is a 28-year member of the Amador County Chamber of Commerce, joining in 1983, the year she opened Jose’s.

Perez is also a former trustee of Sutter Amador Hospital; a board member of Sports for the World’s Children; a volunteer for Amador Unified School District; a local school sports sponsor; and past participant in the Amador Business Association. Martha Perez has translated for Superior court, Justice Court, hospitals, doctors and all of the schools.
