Chamber President Mark Borchin, Vice President Tom Blackman and Executive Director Susan Manning presented Perez with a $500 cash donation and $500 worth of basketball shoes for Sports For The World’s Children, the international charitable foundation, for which Perez is a member of its board of directors.

Sports For The World’s Children has served children age 5-18 in the United States, Mexico, Nicaragua, and Uganda by providing them with thousands of pounds of sports equipment, as well as sports skills training and mentoring programs, through its “Communities Play” Program.

Sports For The World’s Children’s mission is to provide, through charitable contributions, used and new sports equipment, facilities, and instruction as well as educational materials and supplies to children with limited resources. The mission also is to teach and promote, through sports, physical and mental well-being, self-esteem, leadership and teamwork, spirited competition, fairness and respect, and camaraderie and goodwill among communities and countries.

The foundation also seeks to “empower those communities to sustain ongoing sports programs for their children” and to “foster lifelong friendships.”

To make a donation, contact the Chamber at (209)223-0350.
