JPD Captain Christy Phillips released details Thursday, saying on Jan. 24 “while on routine patrol of the Jackson Cemetery, Officer Mike Collins detained two suspicious juveniles.” Both “were found to be in possession of marijuana. When asked where they obtained the marijuana, one of the juveniles provided suspect information.”

Phillips said the suspect, later identified as Nicholas Paul Fetterman, 24, “was also in the cemetery being detained” by officers from Sutter Creek Police Department and Amador County Sheriff’s Department. “Fetterman admitted to providing both juveniles with marijuana.”

The “investigation resulted in locating suspicious pornography on Fetterman’s cellular telephone. A search warrant to obtain the data from Fetterman’s cellular telephone was prepared and executed” by the Amador County Combined Narcotics Enforcement Team, Phillips said. “The search warrant revealed explicit child pornography.” With a second warrant, authorities searched Fetterman’s residence in Jackson, resulting in “additional child pornography, illegal controlled substances and drug paraphernalia.”

Fetterman was booked into Amador County Jail for possession of depicting a minor child engaging or simulating sexual conduct and furnishing a minor with marijuana. Additional charges are pending.
