Amador County – Sutter Creek City Council on Monday awarded contract for $650,000 to Viniguerra Construction for a federally funded drainage project on Broad Street, with a 25 percent local match.
City Manager Sean Rabé said the Council approved the awarding of the Broad Street Storm Drain Diversion to lowest bidder Vinciguerra Construction. He said the project is funded by a Federal Emergency Management Association grant, with a 25 percent local match. The project will divert storm water from Gopher Gulch down a new storm drain pipe to Sutter Creek.
Rabe said the “project is important to the City because it will alleviate some of the pressure put on the aging Gopher Gulch canal.”
Other bidders included K.W. Emerson Incorporated, bidding $790,000 and Doug Veerkamp, bidding $859,000. The project includes 1,050 linear feet of 42-inch diameter storm drain, 1,000 feet of 6-inch sanitary sewer lines, and various sizes and length of other pipes.
