The letter also reminds Schwarzenegger of his past actions, saying, “In 2004 you signed an amended compact…giving the (Buena Vista) tribe an unlimited number of slot machines…The Legislature ratified the compact notwithstanding the County’s Opposition.” Besides outlining the political history of the battle between County, State, and Federal Governments, the statement reiterates the County’s frustrations. “To say that people of Amador County are frustrated would be an understatement,” explains the letter. “County residents are angry that the Federal Court has failed to rule on the motion to dismiss, denying the County the opportunity to present its case on the merits.” The letter concludes with the axiom, “justice delayed is justice denied”.
