slide2The California secretary of state is urging voters to go through their 192-page voter information packet and fill out their sample ballots before heading to the polls Tuesday. There are 13 statewide propositions on the ballot, state offices from governor to state controller are up for grabs plus there are numerous local races including a supervisor’s seat, several city council seats and trustee positions on the Amador Count Unified School District Board and the Water Agency Board, as well as, and two local measures, K and L to be decided. Absentee ballots have already been pouring into county elections offices.

slide5Those ballots must arrive no later than the close of polls this evening so those not already sent via U.S. mail have to be hand-delivered to be counted. Also, the Amador County Elections Department wants to remind you to please sign the back of the envelope of your absentee ballot when returning it. Polling places open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. Secretary of State Bruce McPherson has predicted voter turnout at 55 percent. Amador County is traditionally much higher than the state average hitting above 85 percent in the last general election. TSPN will you bring you all the election results live tonight beginning at 7:30 pm
