Training is scheduled on the evenings of January 4th and 9th, and Saturday morning on January 13th in a convenient location. By monitoring the local creeks, streams, or rivers information is derived about it’s health, and the plants and animals it supports. Also through the Citizen Water Quality Monitoring it helps pinpoint pollution sources or identify widespread problems. Participants will provide the background information needed to develop restoration projects or pollution prevention measures. If you are interested in becoming involved contact Terry Strange, Upper Mokelumne River Watershed Coordinator at (209) 257-1851 ext. 105 or email at: This email address is being protected from spambots. to help monitor water quality in our local streams. Citizen water quality monitoring is monitoring
of the environment by community members interested in the protection of their
rivers, lakes and streams. The 3-part training series will include
an introductory session; use, operation, and calibration of the testing
equipment; and habitat assessment and riparian plant identification.
