The AWA held a special meeting on the first day of  December to address a number of issues.

slide17The first item on the agenda was Ceremonial matters for administering the oath of Office to directors Terrence Moore, Heinz Hamaan, and Dan Brown. Terry Moore will serve as the new Board President while John Swift will serve as the Vice President. General Manager Jim Abercrombie will serve as the secretary for board meetings while Kim Toma will remain as board clerk. Committee assignments were also made for board members. These assignments determine which Board members will be attending specific  local meetings.

slide18 Also it honored was Stephen Kronick, the district’s lead legal counsel for 20 years of dedicated service to the AWA. The Board adopted resolution 2006-57 honoring Kronick on the anniversary of 20 years of service. The final item to appear on the agenda was regarding acceptance of easements from SPI/Catlin Development for wastewater facilities in Martell. General Manager Jim Abercrombie explained that, “Essentially when a developer puts in a water and wastewater system and extends lines, they have to provide easements for those lines. So this is merely a main line extension agreement and commitment that they, the developer, will dedicate easements for access to facilities to the agency.” The routine matter was accepted by the board.

The board will meet again today December 4th at 1:30pm at the Amador Co. Administration building in the Board of Supervisors Chambers for the Regional Wastewater Planning Forum. Consultants Eco Logic and HDR will be returning to present the possibility of a Regional Wastewater Planning Process. Anyone interested in the discussion is invited to attend the meeting at 810 Court Street in Jackson.
