Jose’s Mexican Restaurant in Jackson was converted to a holding cell for about 40 local people, including Sutter Creek mayor Bill Hepworth, Vince DeStigder and our own Kam Merzlak, Toni Fancher and in case of a pet emergency, Dr Alison Pilsbury, as well as those awaiting arraignment by a specially appointed Judge, just for the occasion. Some of the incarcerated faces will surprise you- Amador County Sheriff’s Dept Detective Drew Stidger and Raley’s Manager Tom Thompson. Not even the owner of the popular local establishment escaped this time. The New Jackson Ford Mercury provided the “pick up” vehicles as the charitable arrests were made through out the county. The goal for the event was a total of 30,000 dollars sought as donations of bail for the incarcerated.
Some local faces found themselves behind bars yesterday for a good cause, Muscular Dystrophy.
