The defendant repeatedly initiated sexually explicit discussions via AOL! Instant Messenger with the person he thought was the thirteen year-old victim. He sent the victim sexually explicit images of himself, and arranged a meeting with the victim. He actually traveled to meet the victim in Turlock. Stanislaus County detectives arrested the defendant when he showed up at the pre-arranged meeting site at a Del Taco in Turlock. At the time of his arrest, he had in his possession half of a blue pill which he told officers was viagra, a tube of KY jelly, and a digital camera. The defendant even paid for a motel room where he had placed condoms and pornographic materials, in anticipation of his return to the motel room with his victim.
On March 16, 2004, Stanislaus County detectives executed a search warrant at the defendant’s residence and, and following a computer forensics analysis, located the AOL! Instant Messenger chats with the victim saved on his computer hard drive. SATTERLEE was remanded into federal custody, following the return of his guilty verdict on March 1, 2007. His sentencing hearing is scheduled for May 14, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. before the Honorable Oliver W. Wanger.
