According to the Sheriff’s Office, based upon statements from witnesses, involved parties, and the physical investigation, it was determined that Robert Eric Fry unlawfully entered his parent’s residence.  He then forced entry into a locked bathroom wherein he began beating his father with a piece of wood which had nails protruding from it.  Robert Lee Fry was able to escape into the living room where he armed himself with his .38 caliber revolver.  When Robert Eric Fry entered that room and began another attack on his father, Robert Lee Fry shot his son one time.  Robert Eric Fry fled the residence on foot to a neighbor’s home where he was subsequently located. A search of the scene resulted in the recovery of evidence associated with the incident.  Additionally, suspected methamphetamine was found in Robert Eric Fry’s vehicle which was located at the scene.  Although having evident injuries from the altercation, Robert Lee Fry refused medical services. After being treated and released from UC Davis Medical Center, Amador County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Robert Eric Fry and charged him with assault with a deadly weapon, burglary and transportation of a controlled substance.  Additional follow up investigation is pending according to the Sheriff’s Office.
