Changes to the Amador County Fair Board were
announced this week that will bring two new faces onto the local Board. Both Laurie Forster of Ione
and Jeanne Deaver of Plymouth were appointed to the Board by Governor Schwarzenegger.
The women will replace former Directors Tim King and Connie Mason.
New The Governor also reconfirmed Frank Halvorson,
Mike Boitano, Robert Manassero, Janice Howard, Ciro Toma and Chuck Simmons to
new terms on the Fair Board. These positions do not require Senate confirmation
and there is no salary for the dedicated group of individuals. Although the announcement
from the Governor’s Office includes the political party affiliation of each of
the Fair Board members, all Republicans, this is a non partisan office. The two
new members have a long history of involvement with both agriculture and the
Amador County Fair.
