Upon further investigation,
it was determined that a nearby camper had observed Miller talking to himself
and walking towards the lake. The
subject said he then heard Miller splashing in the water and immediately went
to assist him. The subject reported
finding Miller partially submerged under the edge of a small dock. The subject said that he pulled Miller to the
edge of the dock and with assistance from another subject attempted CPR. There was no evidence of foul play. Miller’s son, who also resides at Lake Amador,
reported that the 85 year old suffered from Dementia and Alzheimer’s.The Amador
County Sheriff Coroner’s Office will conduct additional investigation to
determine the cause and manner of Miller’s death.

Drowning Reported At Lake Amador
Last Friday March 23, 2007
at approximately 0537 am, the Amador County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 Emergency call for a
possible drowning at Lake Amador, 7500 Lake Amador Drive in Jackson Valley. Upon
arrival to the scene, the deputy located two subjects in the lake, attempting
to provide cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to a male subject. The two subjects and the deputy pulled the
male onto the shore wherein the deputy and one of the male subjects attempted
CPR until relieved by personnel from American Legion Ambulance, Jackson Valley
Fire Department and the California Department of Forestry. The subject, 85 year old George Andy
Emil Miller, a resident at Lake
Amador was subsequently
pronounced dead at the scene.
