Next Monday the Amador county negotiation team representing the county’s interests in negotiations with the Buena Vista Rancheria will head to Sacramento for yet another round of negotiations with the Tribe.
According to County Administrative Officer Teri Daly, traveling to Sacramento is more cost effective for the county because that is where the county’s outside legal counsel is located and this saves the county travel time charges for the legal services provided. The negotiation deadline is fast approaching after a 30 day extension of the original deadline for the process was already agreed to by all parties back in July. The negotiations center around mitigations for the impacts of the large casino under a compact that was approved by Governor Schwarzenegger. The tribe is proposing the gaming facility for 69 acres on Coal Mine Rd in the Jackson Valley. The new deadline is August 10th.
