In a press conference held yesterday afternoon, Jackson Detective Chris Mynderup asked for the public’s help in identifying victims of voyeurism at a Jackson Dry Cleaner. Alex Ko, owner of Holiday Cleaners in Jackson, is facing two misdemeanor counts of videotaping women without their consent.

If found guilty, Ko faces a year of prison time and possible fines. Holiday Cleaners keeps a changing room for customers who are trying on clothing alterations. Ko’s conduct came to the attention of authorities after a woman in the dressing room noticed someone spying on her with a recording device.  After being confronted by the police last October, Ko initially denied the charges before admitting to owning a Palm Treo Smart Phone with a recording device similar to that described by the victim. A video of the woman was discovered on the phone. Police then seized Ko’s computer for forensic examination. According to Mynderup, several more videos of women in various state’s of undress were discovered. Ko has refused to cooperate in identifying the other victims. Mynderup is going public in hopes of contacting the other women and because, in his words, “the public needs to be aware.” If you have any information on this case, please contact Detective Chris Mynderup or Chief Of Police Scott Morrison at 223-1771.
