A Date Has Been Set For The Mokelumne River Clean Up

Want to experience a fun and productive day of cleaning along the banks of the Mokelumne River! Want to fell appreciated for any time you can contribute—whether that’s one hour or half a day? Experience a lovely day on the banks of the Mokelumne River? Mark your calendars for the 2006 Mokelumne River clean-up, this year on Saturday November 4, 2006 8:30 AM. The sign ups are at 8:30 AM at the back parking lot of the Jackson Senior Center at 229 New York Ranch Rd. or for upcountry residents at the West Point Elementary School parking lot. Coffee, and morning munchies will be served.
Join the Mokelumne Coast to Crest Trail, East Bay MUD and the Foothill Conservancy for the river clean up along the Electra reach of the Mokelumne, just above Highway 49, and the North Fork Mokelumne at Highway 26 near the swimming spot there. You’ll need to complete a liability release prior to participating. The forms will be available at the Jackson Senior Center and West Point School. Clean up participants under 18 are welcome but must be accompanied by responsible adults and have their liability releases signed by a parent or guardian. Supervised youth groups are welcome. Please contact Chris Wright at (209) 295-4900 in advance. Please bring a bag lunch, your family, work gloves canteen, sunscreen, insect repellent, sturdy shoes or boots, long pants, and a hat. Also recommended are flotation devices for those who will work close to the river’s edge. No pets or Alcoholic Beverages please!
