The Great Sutter Creek Duck Race: Big Winner Is Local

slide13 Saturday the Great Sutter Creek Duck Race was held in Sutter Creek. This was the 20th year of the charitable event put on by the Immaculate Conceptions Men’s Club. The race benefits many local charities that this year will split approximately 25,000 dollars. The beneficiaries this year include 12 local groups, including

• Amador County Child Abuse Prevention Council - ACCAPC

• Amador County Kiwanis Club

• Amador County Special Education – APERS Amador Cooperative Preschool

• Amador Polar Bears • Camanche Lake Community Center

• Gold Nugget 4-H Club

• Knights of Columbus / the Mother Lode Newcomers

• and the Volcano Theatre Company.

The Duck Race attracts visitors from the local area and from Sacramento, the Bay area and even Southern California. Planning for the Duck Race is a year long effort, culminating in a Saturday of family fun, food, entertainment and over $10,000 in cash and prizes plus exciting kid’s prizes! This year’s cash prize winners were: 10,000 to Vicki Robinson of Sutter Creek, 1,500 dollars to Richard Neves Jr., of Danville and 1,000 dollars to Lori Eliskovich of Sutter Creek.
