After a 5 hour duration in regards to the public hearing, Jackson City Council decided early Tuesday morning to certify the EIR, approve the tentative parcel map, to move forward with the development agreement, and to approve the resolution for HEU Exemption. Council voted 4-1 to approve the motion, with Vice Mayor Andy Rodriguez opposing because he felt the “exemption was premature” This does not mean that the Jackson Hills project is approved, it does mean however that the next stage of planning will begin.
The development agreement will begin to form with input from concerns raised at the meeting Monday night and from Council’s requests, and be brought to the Planning Commission and then back to City Council. At the end of the Development Agreement negotiations, there may or may not be a project says council member Connie Gonsalves. If the development agreement is not agreed upon by both parties the Tentative Parcel Map will expire in 36 months.
